OTC Community Shuttle Experience
Not traditional transit — an experience engine. The Community Shuttle is a mobile activation platform that connects Old Town's activity zones, eases parking friction, and generates revenue while entertaining riders.
The Experience Concept
Most community shuttles are purely functional — they move people from A to B. The OTC Community Shuttle is fundamentally different. It's a rolling entertainment experience that happens to move people around.
Live Host
An energetic onboard host provides humor, local storytelling, real-time business shoutouts, and keeps the atmosphere fun and engaging throughout the ride.
Conversion Moment
A signature moment mid-ride where the host presents a QR code linked to OTC's donation page — turning riders into active supporters of the district.
Business Amplification
The host actively promotes businesses along the route, creating live word-of-mouth marketing that drives foot traffic at each stop.
The Continuous Loop Route
The shuttle runs a 20–30 minute continuous loop covering all key Old Town activity zones. Riders can hop on or off at any stop and re-board on the next pass.
Starting and ending point. Social District Cup sales, OTC information, and the main boarding area for first-time riders.
Picks up visitors who parked in overflow lots — removes the biggest barrier to visiting Old Town on busy event days.
Drops riders at the heart of Old Town's restaurant and retail district. The host highlights featured businesses at this stop.
Key businesses or event activation points — brewery partners, restaurant anchors, or special event venues.
Festival grounds, parklets, outdoor activation areas — especially important during Tawba Walk and 2nd Saturdays.
Connects visitors to businesses slightly off the main strip — drives exploration and discovery of hidden gems.
Serves nearby residential areas, allowing locals who live close to Old Town to participate without driving.
Revenue Streams
Rider Donations
The host's QR code conversion moment drives voluntary donations. Riders who had a great experience are invited to support OTC directly from their phones.
Shuttle Sponsorships
Businesses sponsor specific shuttle stops or become the "official shuttle partner" — their name is announced at every stop on the route.
Onboard Advertising
Interior shuttle wraps, seat-back promotions, and onboard audio mentions for local businesses wanting maximum exposure during events.
Private Rentals
Corporate events, brewery tours, bachelorette parties, and group experiences can rent the shuttle for private use outside of public operating hours.
Grants & Public Support
Transportation and tourism grants at state and local levels. Town of Cornelius partnership funding for accessibility and district connectivity.
Event Premium Rates
During major events (Tawba Walk, 2nd Saturdays), shuttle becomes a premium-branded experience with higher sponsorship rates and donation conversion.
